Cold Lake Transit

Cold Lake Transit is provided free of charge by the City of Cold Lake. Fares may be subject to change without notice.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

The health and safety of our passengers and drivers is our top priority. Cold Lake Transit has implemented the following safety measures to minimize the potential spread of COVID-19 and ensure the continued safety of our passengers and staff.

  • Face masks and hand sanitizer provided. Passengers will find these items at the front door of the bus. Riders are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask or face covering while on board Cold Lake Transit buses.
  • Physical distancing on buses and inside shelters. All bus seats are open but customers are encouraged to leave extra room (or extra seats) between passengers whenever possible and obey posted signage.
  • Increased sanitization. In addition to daily cleaning, Cold Lake Transit buses are fumigated (known as “fogging”) weekly, to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
  • Driver protection. Plexiglass barriers remain in place to ensure the safety of our Cold Lake Transit drivers.

If you have any questions or comments related to COVID-19 safety measures on transit buses or in transit shelters, please call Cold Lake Transit at 780-639-4455.

New Transit App

Cold Lake Transit's real-time GPS tracking smartphone app is being updated at the end of the year. The current "Transloc Rider" app is being replaced with a new and improved "Transloc" app. Users of the "Transloc Rider" app will be prompted to download the new "Transloc" app when opening the old app. The "Transloc Rider" app will be phased out in December and will stop functioning in January 2021. Riders are encouraged to download the "Transloc" app from the Apple App Store or Android Market to take advantage of the new features and avoid an interruption of service.

New "Transloc" App:                    "Transloc Rider" app (being phased out in Dec. 2020):

Transit Charity Contest winners (Sept. 25)

Congratulations to the winners of our Transit Charity contest, Scotiabank Cold Lake branch and Sparrowhawk Autobody! Together we raised over $1600 for the Cold Lake Food Bank. These organizations will receive six months of free advertising on our Cold Lake Transit bus shelters. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Mobility Devices on Cold Lake Transit
Passengers are advised that while current Cold Lake Transit buses are wheelchair accessible, it is possible that older, non-accessible buses may need to be swapped in while current buses are undergoing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance. During these times, the City of Cold Lake will notify passengers through the TransLoc Rider App of the bus change. Passengers are encouraged to download this app for the most up-to-date information on Cold Lake Transit. Notices will also be posted on this website and social media when possible. Follow the City of Cold Lake on Facebook and Twitter.

Rules for mobility devices
Please be advised that mobility devices (eg. electric scooters) are permitted on wheelchair-accessible transit buses provided:

  • The passenger can maneuver into the designated wheelchair space unassisted by the driver or other passengers.
  • The mobility device can be secured using the Q-straint system.

While most mobility devices will fit in the designated space provided, some larger units may find maneuverability difficult. If you are unsure if your device will fit, or if you require more information or have additional questions, call Cold Lake Transit ahead of your planned trip at 780-639-4455. For alternative transportation options, please call Cold Lake and District FCSS at 780-594-4495.

Transit Guidelines
